our hehn tree starts with two brothers and a sister coming to the us...i dont know the year, around the turn of the cent. jacob (our great grand father) his brother, xavier and a younger sister (dont know her name. jacob had six sons and one daughter (who passed young) my grandfather was leo, married elsie and had 4 sons 1 daughter (robert, richard, dale, james and sandra). my father was james (died 1970). out of the original sons born in america (north dakota) one is till living, jacob. would love to find family from the xavier hehn side of the family. auntie tells me they lived in the chicago area when she was very young (1950"s?) this is all very interesting didnt know there were so many hehns in america...and oregon! wow!

Message: I'm helping a friend to find his ancestors. Does anyone know about the Hehn family in/around Union County, Pennsylvania, around 1824? He has a great-grandmother by the name of Maria Hehn. She married Henry J. Jarrett and together they had 6 children: Percival Franklin, William Henry, Mary Alice, John Alfred, Issac Newton, and Susan Emma Jarrett. Maria's father's name is rumored to be John Hehn married to Ester Smith, but I can't find anything that would show that...not even in their family documents/collection. Message: This is quite an interesting website I have stumbled upon. I didn't know the name Hehn was quite this popular, although I have yet to find a proper meaning of the name.
Nonetheless, this is what I know. My grandfather is one Mannfred Hehn, descendant of Herrmann Hehn and Lina Hehn. Mannfred's brother is Gert Hehn. The family descended from Westerwald in Germany, although they have since spread out a bit more. As far as I know, on this side of the family, the name is going to die out as all of Mannfred's children were daughters (including my mother). Only myself and a cousin of mine (who has a double last name - but she will marry and thus probably lose the Hehn) will be able to continue the lineage of this name.
Now, as a German speaker, I implore all of you to not pronounce it HANE. It is a German name and should be pronounced accordingly, the correct way should be just the way you spell it, or: HEH - uhn.

am the 4 child of Paul John Donald Hehn. My grandfather was Peter John
Hehn. He came to Canada in 1912 on the ship behind the Titanic. He was
supposed to be on the Titanic but missed it. He has one other brother
and a sister appearently in the Chicago area. His parents were Anton

I come from a line of Hehn's that origniated in Luisenhold Poland and
migrated to Plotzk Bessarabia Russia around 1830. My Great great great
Grandfather was Johann Hehn born aug 11, 1809. He had many children one

immigrated from Germany as a young boy around 1912. He purchased land
around Cupar Saskatchewan and farmed it for 60 years. He had 3 sons
(John, Adam and Michael) and 5 daughters (Alma, Kathy, Agnes, Linda and

This beautful town is about 2 hours drive from Frankfort. Christian
Hehn's son John Perter Hehen (B8/2/1835} came to the USA with or met
his wife M. Louise Wilhemina Rau (B11/25/1841. She came to USA in 1853.
My father's name is Earl LeRoy Hehn, Jr. his father Earl LeRoy Hehn,

are Robert Laurance Hehn, Nichollete Lyndell Hehn Nageotte, and Cheryl

live in and around Milwaukee Wisconsin. We would like to know more
about the Hehns. My ex-husband - Robert Ernest Hehn (born Sept 3, 1942
in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin died Jan 1990) I don't know too much
about the family. His father was Robert Earl Hehn (who died in Sept
1959 of a cancerous brain tumor at age 42) So he was born about 1917.
His father came to the U.S. but when he discovered the homeland was
going to war he left his wife (who later remarried and became ...
Gomper) and baby in Milwaukee and went back to Germany. From what
Lucille Hehn (my mother-in law) has told me he once sent information to
Rip (that was Robert Earl's nickname) requesting they sponsor him to
return to the U.S. but the people of the Milwaukee area were extremely
loyal to the U.S. venture in fighting the Nazi that they were in no way
even curious as to the welfare of this man. From what I understand he
did return to the U.S. and have a family. If someone could fill us in
with details I am sure it would be very fulfilling to hear the other

Kommentare: I am the last Hehn in my family
of 3 by birth Hehn's. I have two older brother's, Jeffery R Hehn and
Joseph W Hehn. Our father's name was Walter Edward Hehn. His father's
father was Edward Hehn from Riussia...His mother was Clara Augsta Lelm
from Germany, both were farmers in Wisconsin. Our Father married Anna
Marie and together they had Joseph, Jeffery and Jean. ( that's me ) We
also have a half sister, Wendy Laine. ( different mother then the J's )
